Hiking holiday in Ireland
Welcome to hiking in Ireland, we organise group hiking trips all over the island of Ireland. We can arrange self catering accommodation along with a hiking itinerary that will suit your group down to the ground! The weeks activities and hiking options will be discussed before your arrival, this will be catered to suit your groups requirements.

Classic Irish routes
Our day hikes will take you on some of the most famous hikes in Ireland. We will hike a selection of day hikes to match your chosen itinerary. Select from The Wicklow Way, The Dublin Mountain Way, The Kerry Way, The Dingle Way, Wicklow High Points, The Mournes to name but a few. Our guides know them all. The itinerary will be designed to suit your group, please contact me for further details.
Getting around
In rural Ireland public transport is sparse, to say the least. While there may be access to the Wicklow Way and The Dublin Mountain Way, the rest of the country is not so easily accessed. If you are taking an arranged group hiking trip transport can be organised for you, if you are planning to visit and travel independently you will need a car/bike. The access points to many of the mountains in Ireland is very remote and not served by public transport. Many of the Hiking Clubs in Ireland encourage members to car pool, if you are thinking of joining a hiking club here is a good place to start.
Equipment & Grades
The equipment required is not much more than active ware with good boots, please see our clothing and equipment page. Our walking grades are as follows: Grade 1 are tough, spending over 8 hours on trail with over 1000 meters of height gain, the terrain is rough. Grade 2 are longish day hikes, about 6-7 hours, with height gain up to 1000 meters the terrain can be rough at times. Grade 3 are more relaxed between 4 and 6 hours out with height gain up to 500 meters. Whether you fancy the tough, intermediate or relaxed you will be sure to enjoy all the Irish outdoors has to offer.
The whats and ifs?
When is the best time of year to go? We operate these trips from all year round. What about the weather? Irish weather is generally mild with a year long hiking season. What happens if I can't walk a full day? Your leader will look after this should it arise, however usually transport can be arranged to take you back to your accommodation. Do I have to walk everyday? Of course not, feel free to take a rest day....
