Experiential learning is the process of learning through experience or more specifically as learning through reflection on doing. It is somewhat new in the general education sphere, however students are greatly rewarded by partaking in such projects. We work with small groups to provide support for such events. Generally these projects and events are five to six days long, using a mix of hotel and hostel accommodation. Available during the academic year.
Some suggested routes include:
- The Wicklow Way – multi day route with various accommodations
- The Dublin Mountain Way – a fantastic 2 day route
- The Mourne Mountain hikes – trips into the mountains
- The Dingle Way, Kerry – multi day route with various accommodations
- The Beara Way, Cork – multi day route with various accommodations
- Tour du Mont Blanc
- Via Alpina
- & many, many more….
Students studying literature, poetry, travel writing, bloggers, art, photography, the list is endless have benefited from such projects. We provide qualified and experienced guides for your project. We will meet your students to discus the practical aspects and also to advise on any required equipment, mainly outdoor clothing and footwear. Your students will be guided safely through their journey allowing the tutor to focus on the educational side of the trip. Each day our leaders will provide input on the natural environments, animal habitats, flora and local history.
Please ask us about further ideas, fundraising suggestions, medical forms and participation statements.
